Logical Reasoning
(CUET PG – MBA)
In this segment, the task involves selecting individuals to form a team, considering specific conditions for an event, group formation, or a particular arrangement. When establishing the team, it’s essential to adhere to these conditions, which should be simplified into short notations on your scratch paper to enhance efficiency and save time during problem-solving. Here, we explore different scenarios and the approach to analyzing them.
Let’s have a look at various conditions and how to analyze them while solving the question.
| Conditions | Notations |
|---|---|
| A and B are in the same group | AB √ |
| A and B cannot be together | AB X |
| If A is selected B must also be selected | A → B √ |
| If A is selected B can’t be selected | AB X |
Sometimes, the problem might present conditions for including or excluding items or individuals. These conditions could be framed using logical terms such as ‘if-then’, ‘either-or’, and ‘unless’. It’s crucial to accurately interpret these logical terms to apply the conditions correctly.
ELIGIBILITY TEST
In scenarios like job openings, promotions, or access to certain facilities, candidates are evaluated based on specified requirements. Alongside these requirements, you’ll receive the candidates’ information who have applied. Your role is to evaluate whether each candidate meets the necessary criteria and decide the appropriate action from the available options.
