Dr. B R Ambedkar is known as the ‘Father of Indian Constitution.’ This article briefly shares very essential and key points about Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.

Early Life of Dr. B R Ambedkar

The full name of Dr. B R Ambedkar is Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar. He was also known as a “BABASAHEB AMBEDKAR” in his youth. And in their childhood, his father called him “BHIM”. Basically, Dr. B R Ambedkar was born on 14th April 1891 in a small town named “Mhow”. He was the 14th and Last child of his father. He was a born Scholar as well as Jury member of Indian Court, Great politician and Economist too. He was an inspiration behind a “Dalit Buddhist movement” , which was campaigned against social discrimination for Dalit peoples. He also supported women and Labours to get their rights. He was the first minister of Law and Justice of India after India became independent. He was also known as “Father of Constitution of India” or “Chief Architect of Constitution of India ”.

Education of Dr. B R Ambedkar

  • Dr. B R Ambedkar completed his post-secondary studies in 1897 from Elphinstone High School, Mumbai. When he completed his post-secondary studies, his age was just 15 years. And at that time, He was the only Dalit Student in their School.
  • After Post-Secondary studies, He went for Undergraduate studies. In the year 1907, Dr. B R Ambedkar Completed their Matriculation examination from the University of Bombay. And along with this degree, he became the first person who passes a matriculation examination from his caste.
  • After that, He went for graduate studies and In the year 1912, He got a degree in Economic Studies and Political Science. And after their graduation, Baroda State Government offered him a job.
  • In the same year of their graduation his father died, so He leaves his job and came back to Mumbai. But after a year He went to the United States and started a study of Post-graduation at Columbia University, New York. And In 1915 He passed his Master of Arts Degree in major subjects like Economics, Sociology, History, Philosophy, and Anthropology. And in the same year, he presented his first thesis named “Ancient Indian Commerce” and after a year He presented his second thesis named “National Dividend of India”.
  • Then after He went to London for his doctorate studies. In 1923, He completed his Doctorate degree D. Sc(Doctor of Science) with Economics Subject from London School of Economics, University of London.
